If you are interested in working in an Interprofessional group of motivated students, HSSA wants you to run for a position! HSSA is a representative of health sciences students to the HSERC, and also helps guide the Interprofessional components of health science programs. As well, we promote and facilitate interprofessionalism by putting on academic and social events including the Health Care Team Challenge, the Alberta Interprofessional Conference, as well as social nights. HSSA is looking for candidates to help improve on our pre-existing events as well as to bring in new initiatives to promote interprofessionalism.
Bi-elections are now available, and we will be receiving applications until October 3rd, 2016. On the following Wednesday, October 5th, candidates will be asked to attend the HSSA general council meeting to deliver a 3-minute speech, followed by a question period lasting 2 minutes. After all candidates have been heard, the council will vote and successful candidates will be notified by email later that night. Who can apply to run? If you are a full or part time student in 2016-2017 and have a membership in a Health Science Faculty Association (DSA, MSA, APSA, RMSA, NuFSSA, NUA/NGSA, SPHSA, MLSA, RTSA, PERCS) you are eligible to run.
